The Lyrebird Link ramp to the walking tracks from the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre has been closed to address safety risks. Temporary access to the walks via a short steep detour (18 degrees or 1 in 3) is unsuitable for mobility impaired visitors and prams. This will be the only available walk access until the Glade reopens on 29 May 2026. Please ask at the information counter for advice and directions.

The program will take place in Avondale State Conservation Area, Back River Nature Reserve, Booralong Nature Reserve, Bulagaranda - Mt Yarrowyck Aboriginal Area, Cottan-Bimbang State Conservation Area, Indwarra National Park, Mummel Gulf National Park and State Conservation Area, Ngulin Nature Reserve, Nowendoc National Park, Oxley Wild Rivers National Park and State Conservation Area, Single National Park, The Basin Nature Reserve, Tomalla Nature Reserve, Tuggolo Creek Nature Reserve, Warrabah National Park and Werrikimbe National Park.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The Dangars Gorge precinct in Oxley Wild Rivers NP is strictly closed from Monday 27 October 2025 to Friday 3 July 2026 while visitor facilities are being upgraded. The areas that will be closed include:

Moonee Creek (Sugar Mill Creek) Bridge is closed as the bridge was removed due to damage. A new bridge will be built in its place, please see below link for details.

The paved beach access track from Diamond Head campground to the beach will be closed for upgrades from Monday 20th April for approximately four weeks. The paved path will be replaced with a raised deck, ramp and handrail to improve visitor safety and accessibility.
There will be no access to the beach using this track while the new structure is built. Visitors will need to use the old 4WD beach access track located 20m away. There will be some disturbance from construction noise during normal work hours of 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. It's designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Safety alerts: Slippery and eroded walking tracks - Coastal Walk
Recent rain events have resulted in some sections of the Coastal Walk in Sea Acres National Park becoming eroded and slippery. The affected sections are between Miners Beach and the carpark adjacent to the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Matthew Flinders Drive. Walkers proceeding with the walk should exercise caution and wear appropriate footwear.

Closed areas: Rawson Falls Walking Trail closure
Part of the Rawson Falls Walking Trail remains closed due to extensive damage caused by the May 2025 major flood event. Sections of the trail are affected by dangerous trees, and a significant landslip has occurred on the track leading to the base of the waterfall.
The picnic area as well as the top section of the walking trail to the lookout platform are open.
The section of trail below the lookout will remain closed while planning approvals and procurement are completed to remediate the landslip.

Closed areas: Ngambaa Feral Predator Free Area - Closed Roads
Construction is complete on the Ngambaa Feral Predator-Free Area which has necessitated the closure of roads in the reserve for visitor safety.
Cedar Park picnic area will remain open and available for visitor access.
The following roads are subject to permanent closure as part of the construction and operation of the feral predator free area:
- Wittigs Road
- parts of Stockyard Creek Road
- Seams Road
- Jacks Road
- Buds Crossing Road
Construction works were completed in August and the 23k of fencing is complete.
Construction works have included:
- clearing the fence corridor
- building the fence
- installing bridge and culvert crossings.

Pest animal control shooting operations will also occur in these areas
Shooting operations will occur on select nights throughout this period. The operations will run from sunset to sunrise in areas that are closed for public access.

Access to Mermaid Pools is permanently closed including for swimming. Sudden large swells and tides create major waves that wash over the rocks and pools.
Do not access this area. The severe conditions at this site have caused a number of significant injuries and deaths in the past.
Mermaid Pools have never been a designated visitor site due to the extreme nature of the surf and tides at this location. There is no approved public access walking track to Mermaid Pools.
