The Sea Acres Coastal Walk, Rainforest Centre, Boardwalk and Cafe will be closed due to the severe weather impacting parks of the Mid North Coast and the associated tree fall risk from Tue 20 May to Fri 23 May

Significant rainfall has been recorded in the Port Macquarie and surrounding areas with more rain forecasted in the coming days. Safety alerts: Visitor Advisory - Road Access to Crowdy Bay National Park Campgrounds

Due to ongoing wet weather, road access to Crowdy Bay National Park has significantly deteriorated. Although a grader is on standby, the persistent rain over recent months has prevented essential maintenance works from being carried out.

Recommended Access Route:
For visitors with low-clearance vehicles or those towing caravans, the most suitable access to Diamond Head, Indian Head, and Kylies Beach campgrounds is via Diamond Head Road from the north, through Laurieton. To reach Laurieton, take the Kew exit from the Pacific Highway.

Avoid Moorland Exit for Caravans:
Access via the Moorland exit is generally more difficult for vehicles towing caravans due to narrow and rougher road conditions.

Other planned events: 1080 Ground Baiting Operation

National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a ground baiting program in Kumbatine National Park from Monday 5th May 2025 to Tuesday 5th August 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs. The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Neighbours are advised to take relevant precautions to exclude animals from entering the baiting location – 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs, thus pets and working dogs may be affected. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
