The bridge over Freshwater Creek on Coralville Road will be closed for maintenance from Monday 20 July to Monday 3 August, weather permitting. The road and bridge are managed by MidCoast Council.
This closure will affect access to Crowdy Bay National Park from the Coralville Road entry point, via Jericho Road off the Pacific Highway.
Diamond Head, Indian Head, and Kylies Beach campgrounds, and the Diamond Head walking tracks, are currently best accessed using Diamond Head Road from the northern park entry point via Laurieton/Dunbogan to minimise the length of driving on gravel roads.
Crowdy Gap campground is best accessed using Crowdy Bay Road from the southern park entry point via Harrington.
Stewarts Road to the Pacific Highway via Johns River is also available as an alternative route.

9th July 2026 update: Diamond Head Road in Crowdy Bay National Park has recently been graded from the northern entry point to Kylies Beach campground. Diamond Head Road, to the south of Kylies Beach campground, has been patched with additional gravel. Grading will continue south from Kylies Beach campground towards the Coralville Road intersection after the school holidays, and then move to Crowdy Bay Road.
The roads will remain open during works, however please be mindful of changed road conditions, heavy machinery, and workers on the road. Expect short delays, drive safely, and follow the directions of roadwork signage and workers.

Recent rain events have resulted in some sections of the Coastal Walk in Sea Acres National Park becoming eroded and slippery. The affected sections are between Miners Beach and the carpark adjacent to the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Matthew Flinders Drive. Walkers proceeding with the walk should exercise caution and wear appropriate footwear.

A section of the Coastal Walk within Sea Acres NP will be closed from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 July 2026 to allow routine maintenance of the timber staircase to Miners Beach. The closed section is from Shelly Beach southern headland to the base of the timber staircase on northern Miners Beach. There is no detour available.

Visitors are advised that the fire pits have been removed from Crowdy Gap campground as they were beginning to deteriorate, presenting a safety hazard to users.
Fires are not permitted on the ground. If you choose to have a fire you must bring your own portable fire pit or brazier. Braziers can be hired from Diamond Head campground if required.
Visitors must also bring in their own firewood and be aware of fire regulations and any fire bans in place.

Access to Yessabah Nature Reserve is permanently closed to unauthorised personnel. The former quarry area has limestone rock faces that are unstable and prone to rock fall. Other areas of the reserve are geologically unstable.
