Some areas in this park are closed from 8pm Thursday 22 April to 6am Friday 23 April 2021 for a ground pest control operation. This program will target feral deer. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native plants and animals including threatened species.

Closed areas: Crowdy Bay Road 4WD only in some sections

Crowdy Bay Road can be accessed by 4WD only between Crowdy Gap campground and Coralville Road due to water over the road.

You can access Crowdy Gap campground from Harrington. You can also access Diamond Head and Kylies Beach from Laurieton or Coralville Road.

Wet weather is causing rough surfaces on all park roads. Please drive with caution. For more information, contact the local NPWS office.

Closed areas: Most of Myall Lakes National Park remain closed due to flood impact

Most areas in Myall Lakes National Park continue to be severely impacted by flooding. Flood waters entering the Myall Lake system have inundated campgrounds and roads.

All campgrounds (except Yagon) remain closed for an extended period.

Please avoid all waterways due to public health risk and navigational safety issues.

All roads west of the Pacific Highway remain closed, pending further assessment from NPWS.

Parks in the Hastings-Macleay area are closed due to flood and storm damage.

Camping is not permitted in closed parks.

These closures are due to widespread flooding and extensive damage to roads, campgrounds and other park facilities. Parks will be reopened as soon as they are safe to access. Some parks will remain closed for extended periods.

The Ruins campground main amenities building will be closed from 19 April 2021 to September 2021 for upgrades.

The Ruins campground will remain open during the construction period, however will operate at a 50 percent capacity. The beachside amenities building will be open providing shower and toilet facilities for campers. Campers may experience construction noise on week days between the hours of 7am to 4pm.

Several National Parks and Wildlife Service reserves will be closed until further notice due to impacts to trails from severe weather event. These include:

Wallingat National Park is closed from Monday 8 March 2021 until Wednesday 30 June 2021. The closure is to allow for major roadworks including drainage upgrades and replacement of damaged bridges to improve access within the park.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an ongoing aerial and ground baiting program in this park from Monday 15 March to Tuesday 14 September 2021. The operation will involve the use of meat baits, meat bait products and ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

This program is designed to minimise the impact of foxes on wildlife, especially after the recent extensive bushfires, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs and foxes on neighbouring stock.

All baiting locations will be identified by signs. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Five Islands, Duck Holes, and Moor Creek walking tracks remain closed until dangerous tree works are complete, a pedestrian bridge is reinstalled (Five Islands) and tree risk assessment is completed.
