Safety alerts: Take care on tracks and surfaces
Erosion and surface damage has occurred on walking tracks and road surfaces within national parks of the Hastings Macleay Area following significant and prolonged rainfall events. Remediation works are scheduled as weather permits.

Closed areas: Areas closed due to damage caused by severe weather/flooding
The following areas are closed due to damage caused by widespread flooding:
- north-western sector
- Butchers Yard Road
- Green Wattle Trail
- Lemon Tree Road
These areas will re-open once repairs are completed

Creek Trail and Crestwood Footbridge sections of the Googik track are closed from Monday 9th January to Tuesday 7th February 2023 while the walking track is being upgraded.
From Wednesday 25th January 2023, access from the Googik track to Crestwood will be possible via Marks Trail. Please be advised that Marks Trail is unsurfaced for 1.4km and may present access restrictions for those with limitations.

Closed parks: Yessabah Nature Reserve permanently closed
Access to Yessabah Nature Reserve is permanently closed to unauthorised personnel. The former quarry area has limestone rock faces that are unstable and prone to rock fall. Other areas of the reserve are geologically unstable.

Safety alerts: Detour to Bird Tree Picnic Area
Access to Bird Tree Picnic Area in Middle Brother National Park is currently affected by a landslip on Grey Gum Ridge Road.
Park visitors can access Bird Tree Picnic Area by using Haydons Road off the Pacific Highway, which then joins Stoney Creek Trail and Grey Gum Ridge Road to access the picnic area from the north. There is no access to Bird Tree Picnic Area from Grey Gum Ridge Road south of Bird Tree Picnic Area (towards the towers) due to this land slip.

The following areas are closed from 1 October 2022 due to damage caused by ongoing weather events:
- Wilsons River Bridge on Hastings Forest Way
- North Wilson Road
- Waterfall Walk
- Botanic Walk
Access to the Banda Banda Aboretum is open however extreme caution should be exercised. The trail becomes very slippery in damp or even misty weather and there is an increased risk of fallen trees blocking the trail. There are limited places to turn around safely if the trail is blocked. Visitors are encouraged to walk in to the Arboretum rather than drive.
