Safety alerts: 1080 wild dog and fox baiting operation

An aerial and ground baiting operation will take place in Barrington Tops National Park and State Conservation Area, Wallabadah Nature Reserve, Ben Halls Gap Nature Reserve and National Park, Crawney Pass National Park, Curracabundi National Park and State Conservation Area, Mernot Nature Reserve, Monkeycot Nature Reserve and Watchimbark Nature Reserve from Tuesday 31 March to Wednesday 30 September 2020. Meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluroacetate) poison will be used. The program is for the control of wild dog and foxes. Baiting locations are identified by signs.

Please remember that domestic pests are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Other planned events: Crowdy Bay National Park - pest management program underway

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a wild dog and fox baiting program using 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison, in Crowdy Bay National Park. The program will take place from Monday 2 March 2020 to Monday 11 May 2020. There will be signs at all baiting locations.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs close to the baiting areas should be restrained or muzzled, and must not enter the baiting locations. 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. In the event of accidental poisoning, please seek immediate veterinary assistance.
