Nowendoc National Park, including Jacky Barker campground, is closed due to access issues on Wrights Road related to fire damage in state forest from Friday 9 October to 31 December 2020.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting ongoing aerial and ground baiting programs in this park from Tuesday 23 June to Tuesday 22 December 2020. This program will use meat baits, meat bait products and ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

This program is designed to minimise the impact of foxes on wildlife, especially after the recent extensive bushfires, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs and foxes on neighbouring stock.

All baiting locations will be identified by signs. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks and Reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The last 5km of Barrington Trail south remains closed to vehicles due to trail conditions following recent wet conditions. Visitors can still access both Little Murray and Junction Pools campgrounds.

Closed areas: Hidden Treasure and Basin loop tracks

Hidden Treasure and Basin Loop walking tracks in Copeland Tops State Conservation Area are closed from Monday 14 September 2020. The closure is due to the walking track upgrade project and will remain in place until the project is complete. The work is expected to be completed in 6 weeks, however this depends on weather conditions.

Closed areas: Phytophthora quarantine area - Barrington Tops National Park

Phytophthora is a mould that causes dieback in plants. It has been found on the plateau in Barrington Tops National Park, predominantly on the Watergauge trail between Beean Beean and Black Swamp. The affected area is under quarantine with absolutely no visitor access.

Phytophthora is readily spread by mud carried by walkers' shoes and mountain-bike tyres. There are boot wash stations across the plateau for walkers to use, to ensure their boots 'Start clean, Stay clean'.

An aerial and ground baiting operation will take place in Barrington Tops National Park and State Conservation Area, Wallabadah Nature Reserve, Ben Halls Gap Nature Reserve and National Park, Crawney Pass National Park, Curracabundi National Park and State Conservation Area, Mernot Nature Reserve, Monkeycot Nature Reserve and Watchimbark Nature Reserve from Tuesday 31 March to Wednesday 30 September 2020. Meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluroacetate) poison will be used. The program is for the control of wild dog and foxes. Baiting locations are identified by signs.
