Other incidents: Main access road to Barrington Tops Plateau closed from Gloucester

The main access road to Barrington Tops Plateau from Gloucester has been closed by NSW Forestry Corporation until further notice due to serious damage caused during a weather event.

You can only access campgrounds and visitor precincts located on the plateau from the western side via Scone. Barrington Tops Forest Road (also known as the Scone-Gloucester Road) is closed between Cobark Park picnic area and Dilgry Circle intersection. There is no access from Gloucester to Scone on this road.

Road re-opening dates are unknown at this stage, however NSW Forestry Corporation is working on restoring the road. This media release has more information.

Closed areas: Barrington Trail south partial closure

Barrington Trail south remains closed south of the Junction Pools trail intersection.  The last 5km of the trail is not in good enough condition to open to the public after the very wet weather conditions that have been experienced over winter.

Visitors can still access both Junction Pools and Little Murray camping areas by 4WD on the section of the track that is open.

Closed areas: Gummi Falls campground closed for upgrade

Gummi Falls campground is closed from Saturday 1 October 2022 for up to 6 weeks (weather dependent) for upgrades.

This closure includes access to Bullock Brush, Tugalow and Thunderbolts (between Barrington Tops Forest Road and Pheasants Creek Road) trails.

Closed areas: Tubrabucca Road closed

Tubrabucca Road is closed until further notice between Barrington trail (central) and Paddys Ridge trail due to multiple bridge failures.

An engineer has assessed the bridges and deemed them unsafe to all traffic. NPWS are working towards replacing the bridges as soon as possible.
