Closed areas: Polblue campground closed

Polblue campground will be closed from Wednesday 18 September to Friday 27 September 2019 due to construction works. This is unless the closure is otherwise extended or removed.

Alternative campsites will be available at Horse Swamp campground, Devils Hole campground and Polblue overflow campground. Toilet and barbecue facilities are available in Polblue picnic area. 

Polblue Swamp walk will remain open. Visitors need to be aware of trucks moving through the area.

Closed areas: Annual winter closure of 4WD trails in Barrington Tops

The following 4WD trails in Barrington Tops are closed to all vehicles from Saturday 1 June to Tuesday 1 October 2019 for the annual seasonal closure:

  • Barrington trail (south and central)
  • Paddys Ridge trail
  • Butchers Swamp trail
  • Bullock Brush trail
  • Tugalow trail
  • Thunderbolts trail

Closed areas: Phytophthora quarantine area - Barrington Tops National Park

Phytophthora is a mould that causes dieback in plants. It has been found on the plateau in Barrington Tops National Park, predominantly on the Watergauge trail between Beean Beean and Black Swamp. The affected area is under quarantine with absolutely no visitor access.

Phytophthora is readily spread by mud carried by walkers' shoes and mountain-bike tyres. There are boot wash stations across the plateau for walkers to use, to ensure their boots 'Start clean, Stay clean'.

From Monday 18 March 2019, NSW National Parks is conducting a 1080 wild dog baiting program in Barrington Tops National Park and Barrington Tops State Conservation Area. The program will continue for 6 months.
