Safety alerts: Take care on tracks and surfaces
Erosion and surface damage has occurred on walking tracks, road surfaces within national parks of the Hastings Macleay Area following significant and prolonged rainfall events. Remediation works are scheduled as weather permits.

Closed areas: Cockerawombeeba Roadand trail closed for repairs
Cockerawombeeba Road and trail are closed until further notice due to extensive flood damage.
There is no access from Plateau Beech campground south, through to Forbes River Road.
The road will re-open once the Forestry Corporation completes repairs.

Access to Yessabah Nature Reserve is permanently closed to unauthorised personnel. The former quarry area has limestone rock faces that are unstable and prone to rock fall. Other areas of the reserve are geologically unstable.

The barbecues at Pines picnic area are out of order. There has been damage to the structure and gas bottles have been removed. Plans are in place to have this replaced. The toilets and picnic tables are still operational.

Aerial Baiting is scheduled for 06/06/2022 to 10/06/2022
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Safety alerts: New England Wilderness Walk wet weather warning
The Bellinger River catchment has experienced above average rainfall over the past few months and river levels can rise quickly with rain. River crossings on the Wilderness Walk become extremely dangerous when river levels rise and walkers may become stranded.
Do not do the walk during periods of high river levels or forecast rainfall.
Check the Bureau of Meteorology for river levels and rainfall before setting off.
