Other planned events: Closure of Old Grafton Road

Clarence Valley Council are conducting extensive roadworks closing the Old Grafton Road (Old Glen Innes Road) between Newton Boyd and Buccarumbi, and as such access to Dalmorton campground is by Chaelundi Road from the south only. To access Chaelundi Road you will need to either enter via Marengo Road at Hernani, or via Sheepstation Creek Road at Dundurrabin. These roads are only suitable for 4WD vehicles and off-road caravans.

Please be aware this closure may add significantly to travel time to and from the campground. At this stage works are scheduled until the end of June 2025.

Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted, as long as:

  • They are under the direct control of a responsible adult, who is present at all times during operation
  • The area within two metres of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There is a ready supply of water adequate to extinguish all flames (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the Barwon Area office on (02) 6792 7300 before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.
