Safety alerts: Road safety advice - 4WD only and horse float restrictions
Due to deteriorated road conditions Spirabo Forest Way is restricted to 4WD only, and is unsuitable for the towing of horse floats, caravans or trailers. This includes all roads providing access to Spirabo Forest Way, including Mount Spirabo Road from the New England Highway at Bolivia, and Ten Mile Road and Coxs Road in the south from Deepwater. These roads are unsuitable for low clearance 4WDs, AWD or 2WD vehicles.
Due to current NSW Forestry Corporation operations access to the northern end of Spirabo Forest Way is closed to traffic traveling in both directions, with no access to Washpool NP via Scrub Road out of Tenterfield.

Due to an act of vandalism the female wheelchair-accessible toilets at Dandahra picnic area are closed until further notice.
Signage is in place advising of the closure, and that the male toilets are currently being used in a unisex capacity. Additional toilets within a short drive are located a Mulligans campground and picnic area, Raspberry lookout, and Granite picnic area in Washpool National Park.

Ugly Corner Falls walking track is damaged due to flooding. Surfaces may be uneven due to erosion.
Please follow all signage and don't enter areas that are fenced off. After heavy rainfall creek levels can change rapidly. It is unsafe to swim or attempt to cross rivers that are flooded.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program in Everlasting Swamp National Park and Everlasting Swamp State Conservation Area from 30th July 2022.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using meat and manufactured bait products containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes and wild dogs. The program will be conducted from Friday 1 July until Thursday 30 June 2023.
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks. Pets and working dogs may be affected, and 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Pets and working dogs in the vicinity must be restrained or muzzled and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
These programs are run to protect threatened species identified in the NSW Fox Threat Abatement Plan and Saving our Species programs.

Closed areas: Road closure
Some areas of this park are closed until further notice due to the demolition of a bridge from a past flooding event.
The closed areas include the 4WD access to North Washpool, an area also known as Washpool rest area, entering from Baryulgil onto Collum Collum Road. The bridge is washed away at the junction of Washpool Creek and Collum Collum Road.

- Washpool National Park’s 2WD entrance off Gwydir Highway onto Coachwood Drive and Washpool Forest Way is open.
- Bellbird campground, Coombadjha campground and the Granites lookout and picnic areas are accessible.
