The Wonga Walk can be accessed via the Glade Picnic Area or via an additional access track. This additional access track is a 2-minute walk from the Skywalk, along Lyrebird Lane which also leads to the Glade Picnic Area and Visitor Centre.
The additional access track is surfaced with non-slip rubber mat and is for experienced walkers. Please note that the track is steep and uneven in sections, making it unsuitable for prams, wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Safety alerts: Fire ban - Riverside, Youdales & Green Gully track
A park fire ban is in place in for the following areas and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed.
- Riverside campground
- Youdales campground
- Green Gully track
During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
- They're under direct control of an adult
- The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
- There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: Urumbilum Creek Day Use Area Closed
Urumbilum Creek Road (south-eastern end) and Day Use Area will be temporarily closed from Monday 21st September until Friday 23st October for bridge upgrade works.
The road will be closed at Urumbilum Creek Road Bridge, approximately 1.5km west of Urumbilum Creek Day Use Area (Urumbilum Falls).
The closure is part of the Dorrigo Great Escarpment Walk visitor access upgrade and will allow for improved visitor walking track connections between Tuckers Nob and Urumbilum Creek Day Use Area/Falls.

Closed areas: Dangars Gorge closed for precinct upgrade
The Dangars Gorge precinct in Oxley Wild Rivers NP is strictly closed while visitor facilities are being upgraded. The areas that will be closed include:
- Dangars Gorge Campground
- Dangars Falls Picnic Area
- Dangars Falls lookouts
- McDirtys walking track
- Sailsbury Waters walking track

NPWS will be making improvements to the campground, walking tracks and signage upgrades as well as installing a new pedestrian bridge.
During this time, visitors to Oxley Wild Rivers NP can still access other visitor precincts, such as Long Point, Gara Gorge, Wollomombi Falls, and for the more adventurous, Riverside or Halls Peak. Closed areas: Urumbilum Falls timber bridge closed - Bindarri NP
The timber bridge which provides access from Urumbilum Falls Carpark east across Urumbilum Creek to the Urumbilum Falls Day Use Area is closed.
This closure is necessary due to the surface fill on this elevated timber bridge eroding, causing it to be unsafe for walkers.
For alternate access, options are to use the shallow road ford adjacent (only in times of low water flow), or alternatively consider the flagged walking track to access Urumbilum Falls.
NPWS will be rerouting and improving the walking track access to Urumbilum Falls as part of the Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk over the next two years. This project is already planned and funded, with on-ground work underway in other sectors.

Closed areas: Bindarray Picnic Area temporarily closed
Bindarray Picnic Area is closed to the public until late September due to construction works.
There will be no access possible via vehicle or pedestrians during this time.
The closed area is from the gate at the northern end of Jersery Bull Rd (near junction with Pine Rd) and south to Bindarray Picnic Area.
There is no change to any access to Pine Rd.
Construction of a new pedestrian suspension bridge across the Urumbilium River near Bindarray Picnic Area will provide improved access to the site once works are completed.
This project is part of the Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk, which will provide a new public walking track from Dorrigo Rainforest Centre to Bindarray Picnic Area.

Changed Road Conditions due to road Maintenance works are in place in Werrikimbe National Parks and Oxley Wild Rivers National Park.

Access to Kosekai Lookout is currently NOT possible via Hanging Rock Road due to a section of Hanging Rock Road being damaged during March 2021 flooding event. The damaged section of road is managed by Forestry Corporation. Access to the lookout is now only possible in 4WD vehicles from the south via Boat Harbour Road and then turning onto Kosekai Road

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program in Gaagal Wanggaan National Park, from 27 August 2026 to 28 February 2027. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. The program is designed to minimise fox impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species. Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW NPWS-managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs) and should be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and also must not enter the baiting location. Closed areas: Ngambaa Feral Predator Free Area - Closed Roads
Construction is complete on the Ngambaa Feral Predator-Free Area which has necessitated the closure of roads in the reserve for visitor safety.
Cedar Park picnic area will remain open and available for visitor access.
The following roads are subject to permanent closure as part of the construction and operation of the feral predator free area:
- Wittigs Road
- parts of Stockyard Creek Road
- Seams Road
- Jacks Road
- Buds Crossing Road
Construction works were completed in August and the 23k of fencing is complete.
Construction works have included:
- clearing the fence corridor
- building the fence
- installing bridge and culvert crossings.
Closed areas: Closed for ground pest control operations
Pest animal control shooting operations will also occur in these areas
Shooting operations will occur on select nights throughout this period. The operations will run from sunset to sunrise in areas that are closed for public access.

Suttons road is closed to vehicle traffic following the second major pavement collapse in an area of highly dispersible soils. Alternate access is via Granite Pit or McMullens roads.
