Closed areas: Walking tracks closed due to damage caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred
The following walking tracks are closed until 30 June 2025 due to extensive damage caused by ex-tropical cyclone Alfred:
- Parts of Wonga walk - Tristania Falls section (from Hardwood lookout to Tristania Falls)
- Red Cedar Falls walking track
- Slingsby trail and Syndicate Ridge track
Some sections of Wonga Walk remain open including:
- Lyrebird Link to the Glade
- The Glade to Crystal Showers Falls
- Crystal Showers Falls to Hardwood lookout

Closed areas: Areas closed due to flood damage
Slingsbys trail is closed until further notice due to severe flooding causing damage to infrastructure (bridge).
The western part of Syndicate walking track is closed from Tuesday 16 January 2024 until further notice. NPWS staff are working to assess the damage and repair options. The area will reopen when safe.

Closed areas: Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and Canopy Cafe closed
The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and Cafe will be closed due to the severe weather impacting the Mid North Coast.
Significant rainfall has been recorded with more rain forecast for the coming days. Many roads are already closed and there is the potential for further flooding. It is advised to review your travel plans to national parks and reserves in the Mid North Coast. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information about road closures.
Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters, so you’ll need to reschedule planned visits to parks and reserves and avoid unnecessary travel. Closed areas: Bindarray picnic area closed due to road flooding
Bindarray picnic area is closed due to road flooding. The Urumbilum river is experiencing high flows across the causeway, making crossing unsafe.
The river level will be monitored and the road reopened when safe.

Closed areas: Suttons road closed permanently due to storm damage road failure
Suttons road is closed to vehicle traffic following the second major pavement collapse in an area of highly dispersible soils. Alternate access is via Granite Pit or McMullens roads.
