Safety alerts: 4WD recommended when roads wet

4WD vehicle is recommended during wet weather on the main access roads to Codhole and Platypus Flat campgrounds (including Moonpar, Mills and Moses Rock Roads).

Access to these campgrounds is best via Cascade.

Closed areas: Binderray picnic area closed

Bindarray picnic area is currently closed to vehicles due to flood damage to the access road. Repairs will be undertaken as road conditions permit. Walk in access from the entry to the park is permitted.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting ongoing aerial and ground baiting programs from 6 June to Tuesday 6 December 2022 in the following parks:

Aerial baiting is scheduled for Monday 29 August to Friday 2 September 2022.

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Suttons road closed due to storm damage

Suttons road is closed to vehicle traffic for safety reasons following a pavement collapse during recent wet weather.  Repairs will be scheduled as conditions dry out. Alternate access is via Granite Pit or McMullens Roads.
