Closed roads in New England NP, Dunggir NP and Gumbaynggirr NP & SCA due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred and additional subsequent flood events.

Road blocks have been installed on the Horseshoe road to prevent vehicle movements at the Killikrankie Mountain Lookout intersection in the north and at Kilprotay Road intersection to the south. In addition, Kilprotay road has developed a natural road blockage about 3.5 km from the intersection with the Horseshoe road.

Affected roads include:

  • Horseshoe Road – culvert blow out and undermining of road, no through access. Planning underway to remediate.
  • Kilprotay Road – dangerous  tree requiring heavy plant, scheduled, no through access.
  • Nulla Range Road – major landslip, no through access.
  • Comara Trail – major landslip, no through access.
  • Gaddes Ridge Road – major landslip, no through access. An independent geotechnical engineer's assessment has identified an unacceptable risk of ongoing landslip, this road will remain closed for an indefinite period. Alternate is via Cedar road.
