Other planned events: 1080 wild dog control program

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a wild dog control program from Monday 11 March 2019 until Sunday 5 May 2019 in parts of Myall Lakes and Ghin-Doo-Ee national parks. The program will involve trapping and the use of 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison baits. The program is part of a wider cooperative program being conducted in conjunction with Local Land Services, Forestry Corp, Mid Coast Council and the Bulahdelah and District Wild Dog Control Group.

Domestic animals are highly susceptible to 1080 poison and people are reminded that domestic animals are not permitted in nature reserves, national parks or state conservation areas. Pet owners and landholders must ensure their pets and working dogs do not enter the baiting locations. Bait locations will be identified through signage placed on the main entrance points to these areas.
