Safety alerts: McBrides Beach vehicle access closed and new walking track construction
NPWS has changed access to McBrides Beach at Cape Hawke within Booti Booti National Park.
The vehicle trail to the beach is severely eroded, and is temporarily closed to address immediate safety concerns.
The new McBrides beach walking track provides safe public access to the beach from the Council carpark on Cape Hawke Drive down to McBrides Beach.

Other planned events: Wallingat campground closure
Wallingat campground and access to Whoota Whoota lookout will be closed between Monday 15 February and Wednesday 31 March 2021. The closure is due to planned roadworks on Sugar Creek Road, involving the replacement of several bridges.
The closure could be extended if rainfall delays work. For more information, contact the local NPWS office.
