Closed areas: Myall Lakes National Park closed from 8 January 2020 due to bushfire risk

Myall Lakes National Park will be closed from midday Wednesday 8 January 2020. The closure is for public safety due to bushfire risk. The park is extremely dry which means that fires are more likely to start, escalate and spread very quickly.

Campgrounds, picnic areas, boat ramps, carparks, roads, trails, walking tracks, beaches, river and lake shorelines are closed. Waterways remain open but all land within the park is closed.

Broughton Island, Seal Rocks Holiday Cottages, NRMA Myall Shores Holiday Park and Bennetts Beach to Dark Point (access via Hawks Nest only) will remain open.

The closure will be reviewed weekly, remaining in place until widespread rain reduces the extremely dry conditions in the park.
