Safety alerts: Construction work - The Ruins campground and picnic area

The Ruins beach amenities block is temporarily closed from Monday 30 January 2023 due to construction works. Please avoid the construction zone and use the northern track from the picnic area carpark.

The main amenities block is still open for use.

Closed areas: Mungo Track detour due to flood damage

The boardwalk between Tamboi trail and Brambles Green campground is closed due to flood damage. You will need to follow the detour on the Mungo Track at Mungo Brush. Please follow the walking track to the beach and then walk south for 4km. Take the slashed management trail which connects the beach to Mungo Brush Road to rejoin the Mungo Track route.

Hazard reduction burns: West Shoal Bay HR

There is a fire in this park called West Shoal Bay HR. The fire is west of Government Road and east of Anna Bay Boreline. Visitors should avoid this area. 

Tomaree Coastal Walk remains open.

Ocean Rocks Track on Tomaree Head is closed beyond the picnic area from Monday 8 May 2023 until further notice.

This track has a highly unstable landslip. 

Walkers should not use this track under any circumstances.

Box Beach carpark is closed to vehicles from 10pm to 5am daily. The gate will be locked during these times.

Box Beach Access Road is also closed to vehicles during this period.

  • Myall Lakes National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day.

    The park has coin/card operated pay machines at Mungo Brush campground. Day passes are also available from the Manning Great Lakes Area Office, Bulahdelah Visitor Information Centre and the Hawks Nest Newsagency. You can also pay for your visit via the Park’nPay app.

    Bombah Point ferry fees may also apply (cash payment only).
