NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing aerial baiting program in the following reserves from 15 May 2023 to 29 May 2023:

  • Bullagaranda (Mt Yarrowyck) AA
  • Indwarra National Park
  • Single National Park
  • The Basin Nature Reserve

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The Halls Peak campground and picnic area of Oxley Wild Rivers National Park will be closed for a ground pest control operation

An upgrade to the Budds Mare lookout will be underway from Monday 29 May until Tuesday 6 June. During this time the Budds Mare campground and lookout will be closed. The vehicle access trail to Riverside will remain open.

National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will commence a 1080 ground baiting program on the 24th April to 31st July 2023 on the following reserves:

  • Boonoo Boonoo National Park
  • Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve

The operations will use a combination of manufactured and meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. Signs will be placed at the entry to all the baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
