Other planned events: 1080 ground baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be undertaking 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) aerial and ground baiting for wild dog and fox control in this park. The program will start on Monday 8 April and finish by Monday 1 July 2019.
This baiting program is being carried out as part of a broader coordinated control program cooperatively with Northern Tablelands Local Land Services and Forestry Corporation of NSW. This is to reduce the impacts of wild dogs on stock and wildlife. The program is part of an integrated regional pest management strategy.
Domestic pets, including dogs, are not permitted in national parks or reserves. Neighbours and visitors are reminded that 1080 baits are lethal to domestic pets.
All areas will have 1080 baiting signs at access points to areas where baiting is taking place. In the event of accidental poisoning, seek immediate veterinary assistance.
