Closed areas: Cambridge Plateau Forest Drive closed

Cambridge Plateau Forest Drive will be closed between Monday 11 October and Monday 18 October 2021 due to predicted rain and thunderstorms. Therefore, the following areas will also be closed during this time:

  • Cambridge Plateau picnic area
  • Culmaran Valley track
  • Cambridge loop walk

Peacock Creek campground will remain open, and can be accessed from the west via Peacock Creek Road or from the east via Sextonville Road.

Cambridge Plateau Forest Drive partial closure

Cambridge Plateau Forest Drive will be closed between Peacock Creek Road and Mount Babyl from 18 October to 22 October 2021 due to forecast rain/thunderstorms.

Peacock Creek campground will remain open and can be accessed from the west via Peacock Creek Road or from the east via Sextonville Road

Cambridge Plateau picnic area, Culmaran Valley Track and Cambridge loop walk will remain open and accessible from the south via the Bruxner Highway.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 baiting

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using red meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of Foxes and Wild Dogs.

The program will be continuous and ongoing between Sunday 30 May 2021 and Saturday 30 October 2021 in the following, parks, reserves and state conservation areas:

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
