Closed areas: Areas closed for aerial pest control operation

The majority of areas in this park are closed from 7am Wednesday 27 October to 7pm Friday 29 October 2021 for an aerial pest control operation.

The following areas are open:

  • All accommodation
  • All walks in the Dawson's Spring precinct
  • Lindsay Rock Tops walk
  • Governor Lookout walk
  • Bark Hut campground
  • Euglah Rock walking track and picnic area
  • Sawn Rocks walk

This program will target pigs and goats. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native plants and animals including threatened species such as Brush-tailed Rock Wallabies and the high elevation slug and snail community.

The Barraba Track in Mt Kaputar National Park is closed from Tuesday 24 August 2021 until further notice to prevent damage to the track surface following recent heavy rainfall.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 baiting

A baiting program will be undertaken from Tuesday 4 May 2021 to Wednesday 3 November 2021. The program will use meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks and Reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
