Aerial baiting is scheduled for 14/05/2023 to 28/05/2023

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed parks: Park closed for aerial pest control operation

Captains Creek Nature Reserve is closed from 5am, Monday 26 June to 6.30pm, Friday 30 June 2023 for an aerial pest control operation.

 

This program will target feral pigs. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native plants and animals including threatened species.

Yabbra National Park is closed until further notice. The closure is due to damage from recent weather events, and roadworks on Joes Box, South Yabbra, Yabbra Plains and Pocupar Roads.

Closed areas: Booyong and Rosewood Loop Walking Tracks closed

The Booyong walking track is currently closed due to numerous tree falls.

The Rosewood Loop walking track remains closed while repairs are being made to a flood affected footbridge.
