Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed for roadworks

Nightcap Range Road is closed from 2.30pm, Monday 8 August to 8.30am, Friday 12 August 2022 at 8.30am due to roadworks.

There is no vehicle or pedestrian access to the park from the west via Nightcap Range Road for the duration of the closure.

Please use Minyon Drive to access Rummery Park campground, Minyon Falls picnic area, Minyon Falls lookout and general walking tracks .

Please drive with care as local roads leading to the park still have considerable flood damage. 

This closure may be postponed or extended depending on weather and pending successful completion of works.

Closed areas: Closed tracks due to flood damage

The following walking tracks and areas are closed until Friday 30 June 2023 due to flood damage:

  • Minyon loop walking track
  • Minyon Grass picnic area
  • Protestors Falls walking track
  • Terania Creek picnic area
  • Historic Nightcap track
  • Pholis Gap walking track

Whian Whian mountain bike trails will remain closed until Saturday 1 October 2022.

The Minyon Drive access road is closed until Monday 8 August, 2022 due to road repair works. Dunoon Road between the council road closure sign and Nightcap Range Road is open.

These closures may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

Alternative walking options in the area include:

  • Big Scrub loop and Rocky Creek Dam walk, accessible from Rocky Creek Dam picnic area
  • Mount Matheson loop accessible from Newton Drive.

Please drive with care as local roads leading to the park still have considerable flood damage. There are large pot holes, wash out and some narrow, single lane sections.

Closed areas: Mount Jerusalem National Park partial closure

Mount Jerusalem National Park is partially closed from Wednesday 29 June 2022 until further notice, due to extensive flood damage and to allow for repairs.

The Koonyum Range area, including Koonyun Range Road and Boogarem Falls, will remain open during this time.

The following roads will be closed for repairs:

  • Manns Road - Closed weekdays, 8am to 3pm from Tuesday 9 August to Friday 26 August 2022
  • Main Arm Road - Closed weekdays, 8am to 3pm from Monday 22 August to Friday 2 September 2022

These roads will be open outside the closure times.
