Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed in both directions

Nightcap Range Road is closed to traffic in both directions due to a major landslip associated with the 2022 flood event. The closure affects the section of Nightcap Range Road between Rummery Road intersection and Telephone Road trailer parking area.

Access to Minyon Falls and Rummery Park is via Minyon Falls Road only.

Closed areas: Protestors Falls walking track closed

Protestors Falls walking track will be affected by closures from 29 April to 20 June 2025 for maintenance works to replace the footbridge. There will be no public access from the end of the elevated boardwalk platform. Terania Creek picnic area will remain open.

Other planned events: Main Arm Road closure Wednesday 28 May 2025

National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) is undertaking essential road maintenance in Mount Jerusalem National Park. Main Arm Road will be closed to vehicles from 7:00am to 4:00pm on Wednesday 28 May 2025. Works being conducted include the replacement of a damaged culvert. Heavy plant and machinery will be operating on Main Arm Road.

Access to the Manns Road track head, the Gidjuum Gulganyi walk, the Whiskey Creek walk, the Unicorn Falls walk and the Central Trails area will still be possible from Uki only via Manns Road.

Please follow the directions of roadwork signs and traffic control staff.

Manns Road north of the Manns Road track head will be closed to vehicles from 7:00am to 4:00pm on Tuesday 27 May 2025. Works being conducted include the replacement of a damaged culvert. Heavy plant and machinery will be operating on Manns Road during this time.

NPWS advises visitors to travel via Uki using Rowlands Creek Road and Manns Road to access the following locations:

  • Mount Jerusalem Central trails
  • Unicorn Falls walking track
  • Whiskey Creek walk 

Byron Shire Council are currently undertaking flood restoration works within the Main Arm valley, expected to be completed by early 2026. These works include the restoration and repair of culverts and causeways along Main Arm Road, which is the main vehicle access to Mount Jerusalem National Park when approaching from Mullumbimby. Byron Shire Council have advised that Main Arm Road should only be used by local traffic.
