Brindle Creek Loop Road and part of Tweed Range Scenic Drive will be closed from 6pm Wednesday 20 May 2026 to 830am Saturday 23 May 2026 for vegetation maintenance. The Pinnacles, Bar Mt & Blackbutts lookout will remain open and accessible from Eastern side via Creegans Road.

Tweed Range Scenic Drive is temporarily closed for Vegetation maintenance from 6pm Wednesday 20th May until 830am Saturday 23rd May. The Closure will be between the Pinnacle lookout and Forest Tops campground this includes Brindle Creek Loop Road. Closure will affect the below areas:_

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing aerial baiting program from Monday 18 May 2026 to Thursday 4 June 2026. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Toonumbar Forest Drive and Cox's Road will be closed until approximately 25 May due to wet conditions.
Sherwood lookout and Murray Scrub lookout remain closed until the roads are re-opened. Iron Pot Creek campground and Murray Scrub walking track are only accessible via Murray Scrub Road from Afterlee.
Both roads are not safely trafficable in wet conditions and are therefore closed during forecast weather events and damage during the winter period.

Closed areas: Toonumbar National Park Temporary Closures
Murrays Scrub Road will be closed from 21 April 2026 for approximately 4 weeks to allow for repair work to the road and drainage system. The road will be closed from the intersection of Murray Scrub Rd and Murrays Scrub Carpark Rd.
Murrays Scrub Carpark Road will also be temporarily closed for several days during this period for maintenance works – a separate alert will be posted when this occurs.
Iron Pot Creek Campground will not be accessible during works.
Visitors using Murray Scrub Road to access Murrays Scrub Carpark Rd should be aware large trucks and machinery may intermittently be travelling along Murray Scrub Road. All road users should drive to conditions and be aware of additional traffic and large vehicles.

Access to Peacock Creek campground is limited for some vehicles during inclement weather due to deterioration of local roads. See below best options to access the campground whilst repairs and upgrades take place on local roads:

- Cambridge Plateau Forest Drive via Bruxner Highway (south) - best access when open, 2WD suitable in dry weather only. Intermittently closed during periods of wet weather.
- Sextonville Road via Summerland Way (East) - Most weather access suitable for most vehicles, some pot holes and slippery when wet.

- Iron Pot Creek Road via Kyogle (north) - Suitable for all vehicles in most weather. Drive from Kyogle towards Toonumbar on Afterlee Road to the Dam Access Road, then turn left onto Brays Road, right onto Logan's Bridge Road and right onto Iron Pot Creek Road. Follow signs to Bonalbo once on Brays Road.
- Peacock Creek Road via Clarence way (west) - 4WD only, not suitable for towing. Two steep creek crossings not suitable for 2WD/AWD, badly damaged road surface with very large pot holes.

Some areas of this park are closed until further notice due to the demolition of a bridge from a past flooding event.
The closed areas include the 4WD access to North Washpool, an area also known as Washpool rest area, entering from Baryulgil onto Collum Collum Road. The bridge is washed away at the junction of Washpool Creek and Collum Collum Road.

- Washpool National Park’s 2WD entrance off Gwydir Highway onto Coachwood Drive and Washpool Forest Way is open.
- Bellbird campground, Coombadjha campground and the Granites lookout and picnic areas are accessible.

Other incidents: Yabbra NP - Road conditions
South Yabbra Road runs South from Clarence Way providing visitors with an 18km rainforest road experience to the heart of Yabbra National Park. South Yabbra Road is generally suitable for AWD or 4WD vehicles in dry weather conditions and is a no through road (visitors need to return along South Yabbra Road). From the end of South Yabbra Road visitors can walk or cycle along the adjacent management trails to explore further. Joes Box Road, Yabbra Plains Road, Pocupar Road, Bald Knob Road and South Haystack Feeder are management trails where public vehicle access is not permitted. These management trails are periodically closed to visitors for road maintenance or pest management operations with closures notified on NPWS website.
Sheas Hut Road provides public vehicle access for a further 10 km however is in poor condition and not promoted.
