Safety alerts: Road closure and safety advice - 4WD only and horse float restrictions
Spirabo Forest Way is closed at the north-western end of Washpool National Park (from Scrub Road at Tenterfield) due to major damage from ongoing wet weather.
Access to Four Bull Hut should is by Mount Spirabo Road from the New England Highway at Bolivia, or from Ten Mile Road in the south from Deepwater, through Capoompeta National Park. All road conditions in these parks are degraded due to recent heavy rains and flooding, and access on all open roads is limited to 4WD only, and is currently unsuitable for the towing of horse floats.
Please be cautious and drive to road conditions. Do not attempt to access the reserves while towing a horse float.

Safety alerts: Ugly Corner Falls track damage
Ugly Corner Falls walking track is damaged due to flooding. Surfaces may be uneven due to erosion.
Please follow all signage and don't enter areas that are fenced off. Due to recent rainfall creek levels can change rapidly. It is unsafe to swim or attempt to cross rivers that are flooded.

This is because the Old Glenn Innes Road (the public road access to these areas) has been closed by Clarence Valley Council. Road closure information is available on this web page.
The planned reopening of T-Ridge Road and Nymboida River campground is on Thursday 30 June 2022, and will be based upon Clarence Valley Council reopening the Old Glen Innes Road.

Closed parks: Nymboida National Park closed due to severe rainfall event
Nymboida National Park is closed from Tuesday 3 May until Tuesday 15 June 2022, due to widespread damage following rainfall and flooding in early March 2022.
Many creek crossings, roads and trails are closed and impassable due to the severe rainfall event causing dangerous conditions.
This park will re-open as soon as it is safe, after assessments and remedial works occur.

Other planned events: 1080 ground and aerial baiting program
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be doing a 1080 ground and aerial baiting program from Monday 11 April to Monday 4 July 2022 in this park.
The operations will use a combination of manufactured and meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. Signs will be placed at the entry to all the baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Road closure
Some areas of this park are closed until further notice due to the demolition of a bridge from a past flooding event.
The closed areas include the 4WD access to North Washpool, an area also known as Washpool rest area, entering from Baryulgil onto Collum Collum Road. The bridge is washed away at the junction of Washpool Creek and Collum Collum Road.
Please note:
- Washpool National Park’s 2WD entrance off Gwydir Highway onto Coachwood Drive and Washpool Forest Way is open.
- Bellbird campground, Coombadjha campground and the Granites lookout and picnic areas are accessible.

All NPWS campgrounds now require you to make an online booking before you stay, or to complete a Trip Intention Form for those that are remote and do not have a dedicated webpage, like the campground in Butterleaf National Park.
