Closed areas: Gummi Falls campground closed for upgrade
March 2023 Update: Works are progressing well with the current weather conditions. New toilet facilities have been installed and the re-modelling of the campground is well underway. Picnic and parking area is also progressing well.
Gummi Falls campground is closed from Saturday 1 October 2022 for upgrades - the length of this closure is very weather dependent.
This closure also means there is no vehicle access to Bullock Brush, Tugalow and Thunderbolts (between Barrington Tops Forest Road and Pheasants Creek Road) trails.

Update Feb 2023: Contractors have commenced work on the landslips in The Glen NR, with the bridge/culvert works to follow. The Glen Nature Reserve remains closed due to a number of failed bridges/culverts.
A number of NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service reserves are closed to vehicles until further notice due to damage from severe weather event. These include:

The shooting area will be CLOSED to all visitors when aerial shooting is underway.

Closed areas: Barrington Trail closed south of the Barrington Tops Forest Rd for essential road works
Barrington Trail, south of the Barrington Tops Forest (Scone) Rd, will be closed to vehicles, motorbikes and bicycles from 23 January to 6 April 2023 to allow for essential road works to be undertaken.
This affects vehicle access to both Little Murray and Junction Pools Campgrounds, and hence they will also be closed during this period
The trail will re-open for the Easter weekend and then NPWS will close it again until the end of April to allow the works to be completed - re-opening is of course weather dependant.
Bushwalkers can still access the area during this time, however they will need to be mindful that trucks and heavy equipment are operating on the Barrington Trail.

Update Feb 2023: Contractors have completed work on the landslips in Berrico NR, with the bridge/culvert works to follow. Upper Avon Road in Berrico Nature Reserve is currently closed to all vehicles between Berrico Road and Berrico Creek Road. This is due to the failure of an old log culverts and bridges.

Williams Top Road has been closed by Forestry Corporation of NSW (FCNSW) due to a landslip. The closure affects access to the following areas in this park:

- Wombat Creek campground
- Careys Peak (via Corker trail)
- Rocky Crossing walk

Closed areas: The Mungo Track detour due to flood damage
The boardwalk between Tamboi trail and Brambles Green campground is closed due to flood damage.
You will need to follow the detour on The Mungo Track at Mungo Bush. Please follow the walking track to the beach and then walk south for 4km.
Take the slashed management trail which connects the beach to Mungo Brush Road to re-join The Mungo Track route.

Closed areas: Phytophthora quarantine area - Barrington Tops National Park
Phytophthora is a mould that causes dieback in plants. It's been found on the plateau in Barrington Tops National Park, predominantly on the Watergauge trail between Beean Beean and Black Swamp. The affected area is under quarantine with absolutely no visitor access.
Phytophthora is readily spread by mud carried by walkers' shoes and mountain-bike tyres. There are boot wash stations across the plateau for walkers to use, to ensure their boots 'Start clean, Stay clean'.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground and aerial baiting and CPE program in Ben Halls Gap Nature Reserve / National Park from 15th September 2022 to 14th March 2023.
Aerial baiting is scheduled for Saturday 8th October to Friday 14th October 2022.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
