Closed areas: Broughton Island campground closure

Broughton Island campground in Myall Lakes National Park will be closed from Wednesday 29 July until Monday 26 October 2020 for the replacement and upgrade of the public toilet.

There are two hazardous trees in Wallingat campground and action is being undertaken to remove the trees. Until this occurs, signs and barriers are in place around these trees. Please don't enter the closed areas.

Some parts of this park are closed due to extensive bushfire damage. Essential safety works are currently being carried out. The closed areas are:

  • Hastings Forest Way touring route
  • Brushy Mountain campground
  • Plateau Beech campground
  • Cockerawombeeba Road
  • Forbes River Road

Neranie campground and picnic area are temporarily closed from Monday 31 August 2020 until further notice for essential upgrade works. 

Neranie boat ramp and Hearts Point picnic area remain open.

Park info

  • in Myall Lakes National Park in the North Coast region
  • Myall Lakes National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day.

    The park has coin/card operated pay and display machines at Mungo Brush campground. NPWS visitor service officers regularly visit camping areas to collect fees from campers and sell annual passes. Day passes and annual passes also available from the Great Lakes Area Office, Bulahdelah and Tea Gardens Visitor Information Centres, and other local outlets.

    Bombah Point ferry fees may also apply (cash payment only).
