Queensland National Parks & Wildlife Service will be conducting a Hazard Reduction Burn in Girraween National Park from Wednesday 10am 22 July 2026 until Friday 5pm 24 July 2026. Because of this, the following walks in Bald Rock National Park will be closed for the duration:
- Border Walk
- Little Bald Rock Walk
- Carrolls Creek Walk (Fire Trail)

Due to ongoing safety and welfare issues surrounding accessibility and water supply the Dthinna Dthinnawan horse riding trails remain closed until further notice.

Please be advised scheduled construction works will be underway along the bike trails in Currys Gap State Conservation Area from 25 May 2026 to 30 September 2026.
Work hours are :
- Mon-Fri: 6:00am to 6:00pm
- Saturdays: 6:00am to 1:00pm

Closed areas: Road closure
Some areas of this park are closed until further notice due to the demolition of a bridge from a past flooding event.
The closed areas include the 4WD access to North Washpool, an area also known as Washpool rest area, entering from Baryulgil onto Collum Collum Road. The bridge is washed away at the junction of Washpool Creek and Collum Collum Road.
Please note:
- Washpool National Park’s 2WD entrance off Gwydir Highway onto Coachwood Drive and Washpool Forest Way is open.
- Bellbird campground, Coombadjha campground and the Granites lookout and picnic areas are accessible.
