NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using manufactured baits, fresh meat baits and/or Canid Pest Ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. The program will be continuous and ongoing between the 1st of April 2022 and the 30th September 2022 in Wollemi National Park. The program is to protect the endangered Brush Tail Rock Wallaby.
The following trails will be used as a part of this program:
- Capertee River Trail, downstream (East) of the Coorongooba Campground
- Canobla Gap Fire Trail
- Capertee River North Trail
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Coolah Tops National Park will be open from Friday 11 February 2022.
The following areas remain closed to visitors while NPWS continues to repair them following storm damage:
- Norfolk Falls walking track - upgrades and maintenance are also underway
- Norfolk Falls link track
- Blad Hill Falls - the causeway to the falls is damaged from flooding, maintenance is underway
- Grass trees track - maintenance is underway
- Cox's Creek campground - dangerous trees over road, maintenance is underway
- Pine trees campground - areas closed beyond the creek crossing and under the pine trees
- Sawmill ruins
- Cox's Creek fire trail
- Bundar fire trail
- Forest Road beyond the seasonal gate
These areas are closed because of tree branches hung up in the tree canopy, trees that have fallen over tracks and damaged creek crossings.
Forest Road between Coolah Creek Road to the entrance of the park is managed and maintained by Warrumbungles Shire Council, please refer any enquiries concerning this section of the road directly to the Council.

Dunns Swamp - Ganguddy campground is closed from Monday 9 May to Monday 27 June 2022 for upgrades.
The access road will be closed to all vehicle traffic. All campsites and picnic areas will also be closed.

Heavy rainfall has resulted in flooding. Please be aware that creek and river levels are elevated. Crossings may not be passable. Many roads and walking tracks are closed.
Do not cross creeks where water levels are high. Walkers should be prepared to retrace steps.
As an indicator, walkers should not attempt crossings where water is flowing over stepping stones.
