The trails in this park are closed, due to wet conditions and the real chance of vehicles getting bogged. Sections of trails are under water and have been for some time. If you require emergency assistance while in this park, it will be difficult for first responders to reach you in a timely manner.

Walking and cycling activities can still occur within the park, however support vehicles are not permitted.

Closed parks: Park closed due to wet conditions

Goobang National Park is closed from 3pm, Tuesday 6 September 2022 to 3pm, Monday 17 October 2022 due to wet weather.

This closure includes all walking tracks, campgrounds and fire trails in the park. Please do not enter the park.

This closure will be reassessed weekly and the park will re-open when it is safe to do so.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are closed. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program in Dapper Nature Reserve from Monday 5 September 2022 to Friday 16 September 2022.

The operation will use meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting ongoing ground baiting programs in this park from Thursday 1 September 2022 to Tuesday 28 February 2023.

The operation will involve the use of CPE's containing 1080 poison (sodium fluoroacetate) for the control of wild dogs and foxes. Some red meat may also be used.

The program is designed to minimise the impact of foxes on wildlife, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs and foxes on neighbouring stock.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks and Reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
