This park will be closed to all visitors from 4pm, Sunday 6 September to 7am, Saturday 12 September 2020 for an aerial pest control operation. This program will target deer, goats, pigs and foxes. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native plants and animals including threatened species.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using meat baits, meat bait products and canid pest ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be ongoing and take place between Sunday 17 May 2020 and Thursday 1 October 2020 in the following parks and conservation areas:

  • Goonoo National Park
  • Goonoo State Conservation Area
  • Breelong National Park
  • Cobbora State Conservation Area 
  • Coolbaggie Nature Reserve

All baiting locations will be signposted.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using baits that contain 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will take place between Friday 1 May 2020 and Monday 31 August 2020 along management trails in Girralang Nature Reserve.

Readily identifiable 1080 poison signs have been positioned at trail entry points or trail junctions as well as other appropriate locations throughout the reserve.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pest and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a ground and aerial baiting program using fresh meat, manufactured baits and Canid Pest Ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be ongoing between Tuesday 31 March and Friday 31 July 2020.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Partial park closure - Mine remediation project

Some parts of this park will be closed from Tuesday 24 March 2020 until further notice while the mine remediation project (and related safety works) is being implemented.

The closed areas are:

  • Central Mines trail (north from the Summer Hill Creek crossing to the reserve boundary gate) 
  • Ostini trail (from the junction with Summer Hill Creek trail south to the Summer Hill Creek crossing - excludes the western end of Water Race walking track 

Appropriate signs and barriers will be installed along these trails. Fourth crossing picnic area, Water Race walking track and The Falls lookout will remain open.
