NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a ground baiting program between Sunday 1 August 2021 and Monday 31 July 2022 in Goobang National Park. The program involves the use of Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE) that contain 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. 

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Caloma lookout is closed from 5pm Thursday 15 July 2021 until further notice due to unsafe access road conditions.

Closed areas: Sawpit Gully trail partial closure

Sawpit Gully trail is partially closed to vehicles due to wet conditions. There is no access to the trail north of Greenbah campground and south of Caloma Trig.

You can access Caloma Trig from the north on Gundong Road via Eastern boundary trail, Pipeclay Creek trail, Sawpit Gully trail and Caloma Trig trail. Access to Greenbah campground is from the south along Sawpit Gully trail from Baldry Road.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial program in this park from Saturday 25 September to Saturday 9 October 2021. The operation will involve the use of meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise the impact of foxes on wildlife, especially after the 2019-2020 bushfires, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs and foxes on neighbouring stock.

Safety alerts: Water across the roads

Please be aware the road between the park entrance, Terarra Creek camping area and Dripping Rock picnic area now includes a number of water crossings.

Please be aware that while creek crossings have a concrete culvert or rock base, vehicle trails are made from a natural surface or gravel and can be prone to damage in ongoing wet weather.

Arch Cave and Arch loop track are closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of visitors and staff.

Towac and The Walls picnic areas are closed from 8am Friday 11 June 2021 for facilities upgrades. On completion of current works Towac and The Walls picnic areas will be opened, however the lookout platform at The Walls picnic area will remain closed for further upgrades.

Access to The Walls picnic area from the Nature walking track is not permitted. Visitors can access the Nature walking track from the Summits track. These closures are reassessed weekly.
