Closed parks: Leacock Regional Park closed due to rain and flooding

Leacock Regional Park is closed including all walking trails, access trails, the cycleway and picnic areas until further notice. This is due to the current severe weather conditions which have caused localised flooding and dangerous trees. No pedestrian or cycling access is permitted during this closure.

Remember it’s never safe to walk, ride or drive through flood waters so you will need to reschedule your visit and avoid travel to this park.

All single-track mountain bike trails in Royal National Park are closed until further notice due to wet and muddy trail conditions. This closure is to ensure visitor safety and to prevent damage to the trails.

Riding on fire management (4WD) tracks is still permitted, but please take care as management tracks may be wet and slippery.

The road from Yena to Cape Solander is closed to vehicles due to the construction of the new whale platform.

The road is also closed to pedestrian and cyclists from Monday 4 July to Friday 8 July 2022 for resurfacing.

Closed areas: Royal Coast Track closed at Otford

The Coast Track will be closed Monday to Friday for upgrade works near Otford lookout from Tuesday 14 June to late September 2022. The track will remain open on weekends and public holidays.

When the track is closed:

  • Visitors will not be able to access Figure 8 Pools, Werrong Beach track or the Palm Jungle loop track from Otford lookout 
  • Coast Track walkers will have to exit the track at Garawarra Farm.

Visitors can still access Figure 8 Pools from Garawarra Farm at any time.

The Ironbark Flat toilets, next to Royal National Park Visitor Centre, are closed for upgrade works. There are temporary toilets on the northern side of the building, and the existing accessible restroom beside the Royal National Park Visitor Centre is open.
