Closed areas: All trails closed: Kembla MTB trails are closed due to strong winds

Kembla mountain bike trails are temporarily closed due to predicted strong winds, which pose a safety risk from falling branches and trees, especially when combined with wet ground conditions.

Wind gusts are forecast to reach 90 km/h over the coming days, exceeding safety thresholds in the Trigger Action Response Plan for the trails.

Visitor safety is a priority for NPWS, and the closures are a standard safety practice.

We will continue to monitor conditions and will reopen the trails when conditions improve. Please check nswparks.info/illawarra-mtn-bike or Trailforks before visiting, and follow all park signs.

Thank you for continuing to ride responsibly on the trails.

For safety and to protect the trails, Kembla mountain bike trails may be closed at short notice in wet and windy conditions, for maintenance or park operations.
