Closed areas: Road maintenance closures

Parts of this park are closed while roadworks are completed. The closed areas are:

  • Oyster Lease Road is closed on Thursday 17 September and Friday 18 September 2020 and again on Monday 21 September and Tuesday 22 September 2020
  • North Head Road is closed on Tuesday 22 September to Thursday 24 September 2020

Closed parks: Wollumbin National Park and State Conservation Area closed

Wollumbin National Park and State Conservation Area are closed to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff. NPWS is working to reopen all parks where possible, however, some locations need to remain closed to ensure compliance with the current rules on public gatherings.

Some of the best views of Wollumbin can be found along Pinnacle walk and lookout in Border Ranges National Park. You can also try Goorgana walking track or Pholis Gap walking track in nearby Nightcap National Park, or Best of All lookout at Queensland’s Springbrook National Park.

Other incidents: 1080 wild fox control program

NSW National Parks and Wildlife will be laying 1080 ground baits in Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve (north of the river) from Tuesday 28 July 2020 to Tuesday 22 December 2020 to control the introduced European red fox.

The fox control program is part of the NSW Saving our Species Program for the conservation of priority threatened species such as beach stone curlew and the pied oystercatcher.

1080 warning signs will be placed at all authorised access points to the baiting location.

1080 is lethal to domestic dogs. Please restrain pets and working dogs and ensure they do not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning please seek immediate veterinary assistance. Domestic dogs are prohibited in all NSW National Parks, penalties apply for non-compliance.
