Due to current weather conditions, please proceed with caution on walking trails and campgrounds. 

Please note.

  • Use caution on rough and slippery surfaces
  • Beware of trees falling
  • Look out for erosion, washouts and soft muddy tracks
  • Be aware of creek crossings with fast running water- water levels of the river crossing may become too deep and fast flowing to pass, and extreme caution is advised

Closed areas: Single Track mountain bike trails closed due to weather conditions

All single-track mountain bike trails in Royal National Park are closed until further notice due to wet and muddy trail conditions. This closure is to ensure visitor safety and to prevent damage to the trails.

Riding on fire management (4WD) tracks is still permitted, but please take care as management tracks may be wet and slippery.

The toilets at Allambie Flat picnic area are closed due to construction of new toilets at this site. Alternative toilets are available at Bus Stop Flat and Ironbark Flat.

Safety alerts: Fire trail maintenance works

Fire trail maintenance works will take place on the following fire trails from Monday 19 September 2022 to Thursday 20 October 2022 :  

  • Curra Moors 
  • Bola Heights
  •  Rawson Parade
  •  Loftus Trig
  • Engadine Lakes 
  • Wilsons Creek Dam
  • The Ridge

The works will involve use of heavy machinery. Please use caution when visiting these trails.

A large portion of Pipeline fire trail, between Girronba picnic area and the Goanna track intersection, has eroded away due to recent rainfall events. Vehicles, bushwalkers and cyclists are not permitted past these points. This section of trail is closed.

Park info

  • in Georges River National Park in the Sydney and surrounds region
  • Georges River National Park is open from 6am to 7.30pm during daylight savings (6am – ­6.30pm at other times) but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day. The park has coin-operated pay and display machines at the gate. Please bring correct coins, as no change is given. You can also pay for your visit via the Park’nPay app.
