Closed areas: Border Ranges closures including eastern park entrance

All access to Border Ranges National Park will be from the western end of the park via Wiangaree. This is due to a landslip between Bar Mountain picnic area and the eastern park entrance at Barkers Vale on Tweed Range Scenic Drive.

Other closures include:

  • Brindle Creek Loop Road 
  • Brindle Creek picnic area
  • Antartic Beech picnic area
  • Brindle Creek walking track and Helmholtzia walking track

Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed for roadworks

Nightcap Range Road in Nightcap National Park and Whian Whian State Conservation Area will be closed for roadworks until Monday 1 February 2021.

Please use Minyon Falls Road via Repentance Creek Road and Coopers Creek Road to access the following areas:

  • Minyon Falls
  • Minyon Grass and Rummery Park and the associated walking tracks.

Signs will be in place and Nightcap Range Road will be closed just north of the Telephone Road trailer carpark.

You can still access the Telephone Road trailer carpark and multi-use trails via Nightcap Range Road (via Dunoon).

Closed parks: Wollumbin National Park

Wollumbin National Park is closed due to significant safety issues on the Wollumbin Summit track. The closure will be reviewed in May 2021.

Some of the best views of Wollumbin can be found along Pinnacle walk and lookout in Border Ranges National Park. You can also try Goorgana walking track or Pholis Gap walking track in nearby Nightcap National Park, or Best of All lookout at Queensland’s Springbrook National Park.

Closed areas: South Ballina Break Wall Road closed

The South Ballina Break Wall Road entrance is closed at Mobbs Bay until Wednesday 30 June 2021 due to traffic safety risks. Public vehicle access to South Break Wall is now prohibited. Walkers and cyclists can still access the closed section of road to get to the beach and break wall. Vehicles can still drive to the Mobbs Bay area within Richmond River Nature Reserve.

Please follow the directions of all signage and do not park in front of the boom gate as the area needs to be accessible for emergency service vehicles. A review of the closure will be undertaken at 30 June 2021.
