The Cathedral Rock track is open, however is only accessible from Barokee, off Round Mountain Road.

Upper Ebor Falls is open, so visitors can enjoy the falls, however the following areas are closed due to damage sustained during bushfires:

The operation will involve the use of fresh meat containing Poison 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate). The program will be continuous and ongoing from Monday 23 August 2021 to Friday 19 November 2021 in the following reserves:

High clearance 4WD capable vehicles are required to access Pebbly Beach and Station Creek campgrounds. This includes water crossings which can change quickly dependent on local rainfall and tidal conditions.

Access to Pebbly Beach and Station Creek campgrounds is dependent on Clarence Valley Council (CVC) and Forestry Corporation road infrastructure.

The program will use meat baits, meat bait products and ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. It is designed to minimise the impact of wild dogs and foxes on wildlife and neighbouring stock, especially after the recent extensive bushfires.

Repair works are underway to replace 2 bridges in the Breinerville precinct that were damaged in the 2019/2020 bushfires.

The Diggers Beach middle platform is closed due to storm damage that has exposed the foundations. The structure will be assessed by an engineer and repairs scheduled.

Safety alerts: New England Wilderness Walk - Not suitable during rain or high river levels

The Bellinger River catchment has experienced above average rainfall over the past few months and river levels can rise quickly with rain.  River crossings on the Wilderness Walk become extremely dangerous when river levels rise and walkers may become stranded.

Do not do the walk during periods of high river levels or forecast rainfall.

Check the Bureau of Meteorology for river levels and rainfall before setting off.

Closed areas: Area permanently closed - Mermaid Pools

Access to Mermaid Pools is permanently closed including for swimming. Sudden large swells and tides create major waves that wash over the rocks and pools.

Do not access this area. The severe conditions at this site have caused a number of significant injuries and deaths in the past.

Mermaid Pools have never been a designated visitor site due to the extreme nature of the surf and tides at this location. There is no approved public access walking track to Mermaid Pools.
