Other planned events: 1080 fox control and shorebird protection program - Richmond River area
From Tuesday 13 July to Friday 17 December 2021 NSW National Parks will be running a 1080 pest management program in the following parks:
- Richmond River Nature Reserve
- Broadwater National Park
- Bundjalung National Park
There will be signs at baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks. Pets and working dogs may be affected, and 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Pets and working dogs in the vicinity must be restrained or muzzled and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
These programs are run to protect threatened species identified in the NSW Fox Threat Abatement Plan and Saving our Species programs.
We encourage landholders to participate in control programs on private property. Contact North Coast Local Land Services to discuss and arrange programs. Delays may occur due to unsuitable weather conditions.
