NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program in Yuraygir National Park from Monday 30 December 2024 to Thursday 31 July 2025.

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. It's designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Campground Closure for Pebbly Beach and Station Creek

Pebbly Beach and Station Creek Campgrounds will be closed for aerial shooting for feral pig control between 6am Monday 18th August to 5pm Tues 19th August 2025

The NSW National Park and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial shoot operation targeting feral pigs. During this time there will be no access permitted to the campgrounds or Station Creek Beach for the safety of the public. Notification signs will be posted on entry points and staff will be enforcing closures during the operation. Areas will be reopened immediately after the operation is completed. This program aims to reduce the significant impact feral pigs have on native plants and animals including threatened species. Other pest animals including foxes and wild dogs will be targeted if observed during the operation.

Penalties apply for non-compliance.
