Safety alerts: Beach access closed due to beach erosion
Coastal processes have eroded the foredune in front of the cottages, causing a dangerous drop off. The beach access tracks between Mildenhall Cottage and Imeson Cottage, and from Partridge Cottage, have been closed until further notice. Access to Clarkes Beach is via Brooke Drive and the Pass, or through the Bawaii (Captain Cook) car park and rest area.

Closed areas: Rummery Park campground closed for maintenance works
Rummery Park campground will be closed for maintenance from 2pm Sunday 6 September 2026 until 10am Thursday 10 September 2026. During this time Minyon Drive will be closed at Minyon Causeway. This closure also impacts:
- Byan Yangala Loop
- Gidjuum Gulganyi walk
- Whian Whian Mountain Bike Trails
Access to Minyon Falls lookout, Minyon Grass picnic area and Minyon Falls walking track will remain open via Minyon Drive. Boggy Creek walk will remain open with access via Minyon Falls Day Use Area only.
Heavy vehicles will be operating in these areas during this time. Please follow all road signage and directions from NPWS staff.

Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed in both directions due to major landslip repairs
Nightcap Range Road is closed to traffic in both directions due to a major landslip associated with the 2022 flood event. The closure affects the section of Nightcap Range Road between the Rummery Road intersection and Telephone Road trailer parking area.
Access to Minyon Falls and Rummery Park is via Minyon Falls Road only.

Closed areas: Areas closed for trail upgrade
Some parts of this park are closed from Friday 19 June to Friday 9 October 2026 trails are being upgraded. The closed areas are:
- Esk Trail
- Serendipity Trail
- James Trail
- Woombah fire trail
These essential works are implemented by NPWS under the Fire Access Fire Trails (FAFT) program.
All works are to ensure safety of emergency response workers, to protect the community, ensure fire trails are compliant with RFS standards and to better manage risks to park environmental and cultural values.
Plant and machinery will be on these trails until 9 October 2026 – weather dependant.

Other planned events: 1080 baiting operation
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program in Bundjalung National Park from 24th September 2025 to 24th September 2026.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. Its designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Bundjalung National Park visitors may experience loud aircraft noise until further notice. RAAF training operations from the nearby Evans Head Air Weapons Range may be heard and seen from the Black Rocks campground and Jerusalem Creek paddle route and walking track.
Please note:
- The RAAF schedule of planned air operations is available on the Defence Aircraft Noise webpage.
- RAAF schedules for the Air Weapons Range in Bundjalung National Park can change at short notice due to weather or other operational considerations.
- Aircraft may not utilise the range every day of scheduled operations.
