Closed areas: Visitor areas closed
Some high visitation areas and remote campgrounds in Berowra Valley National Park and Marramarra National Park are closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff.
The closed areas include:
- Tunks Ridge rest area
- Gentlemans Halt campground
- Marramarra Creek campground
- Twin Beaches campground
Canoelands Ridge trail within Marramarra National Park may be temporarily restricted from Thursday 21 May 2020 until further notice due to track remediation work. The walking track between the end of Canoelands Ridge trail and Gentlemans Halt campground remains closed until further notice while staff assess safety concerns.
The Twin Beaches toilet block remains closed until further notice while upgrade works are conducted.
The closing of toilets and other facilities will be decided on a case-by-case basis, with necessary site assessments considering the management of health and safety risk to visitors and staff, and available resourcing to maintain facilities.
Access to sanitation products and running water cannot be guaranteed. We recommend bringing hand soap, hand wipes and toilet paper with you to maintain good hygiene as advised by the NSW Government.
Visitors are reminded to practice appropriate social distancing requirements and good hygiene. The maximum group size for an outdoor gathering is 10 people. Groups are still expected to maintain social distancing. If you arrive at a national park or other public space and it is too crowded to practice social distancing, it is your responsibility to leave the area. Do not wait to be instructed by NPWS or police.
For more information regarding closures, call the NPWS contact centre on 1300 072 757, or the NPWS North Western Sydney area office on 02 8448 0400.
