Closed areas: 4WD Beach access closed

Beaches in Myall Lakes National Park are closed to vehicles including:

  • Mungo Beach 4WD access to the Big Gibber
  • Bennetts Beach from the southern park boundary to Dark Point
  • Lighthouse Beach at Seal Rocks

These beaches have been impacted by the recent weather, making them unsafe for vehicles. The closure will be reviewed on Tuesdays weekly.

Closed areas: Broughton Island campground closure

Broughton Island campground in Myall Lakes National Park will be closed from Wednesday 29 July until Friday 25 September 2020 for the replacement and upgrade of the public toilet.

The island will remain open to day visitors. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the local NPWS office on 02 4984 8200.

Closed parks: Willi Willi National Park

Willi Willi National Park is closed due to extensive bushfire damage. Hastings Forest Way is also closed due to extensive damage during recent bushfires in the area.

Do not enter the park. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Closed areas: Areas closed due to bushfire damage

Some parts of this park are closed due to extensive bushfire damage. Essential safety works are currently being carried out. The closed areas are:

  • Hastings Forest Way touring route
  • Brushy Mountain campground
  • Plateau Beech campground
  • Carrai and Coachwood trails
  • Cockerawombeeba Road
  • Forbes River Road

A number of campsites at Korsmans Campground are temporarily unavailable due to recent upgrade works. Works include defining and levelling campsites, replacement of wood fireplaces and improvements to drainage and access to sites.
