Please be aware of vegetation works being carried out on the lower TVT from just downstream of the Skitube Bridge to Gaden Trout Hatchery. The Guthega Track Head vehicle drop off area and turning circle is closed to vehicles for construction works from Monday 10 October 2025 to Friday 30 October 2026.
Walkers can still access the Snowies Alpine Walk and Illawong Walk. NPWS are constructing a new toilet facility at the Guthega Track Head.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting ongoing ground baiting programs in Kosciuszko National Park from Monday 8 June 2026 to Tuesday 8 December 2026.
The program will be conducted in the northern precinct of the park, which includes the following areas:
- Goobarragandra
- Blowering Foreshores
- Big Talbingo/Buddong
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes and wild dogs. The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

There is an increase in heavy and light vehicle movements on the Snowy Mountains Highway (between Cooma to Tumut) and Link and Tantangara Roads within Kosciuszko National Park. Safety alerts: Potential for Unexploded Ordinances in Livingstone National Park
There is a Substantial risk of unexploded ordinances (UXO) within Livingstone National Park.
There is signage erected at all entrances to the risk area.
If you are driving, bushwalking or mountain biking in the area, you must keep to the formed trails within the UXO risk area. No camping or digging of any kind is permitted within the risk area.
Dentons Campground and Dam Campground have been cleared of UXO risk and camping is permitted within the fenced areas of the campgrounds.

Transport for NSW will be doing road works on the Yarrangobilly Caves Road from Tuesday 11 November 2025 to Friday 3 July 2026. Safety alerts: 4WD access in Brindabella National Park
Trails in Brindabella National Park can be extremely challenging in all weather conditions. Steep gradients, loose surfaces, and limited traction make access difficult in both wet and dry conditions.
Caution is advised if you are travelling to the following areas:
- McIntyres Campground
- Lowells Flat Campground
- Flea Creek Campground and Picnic area.
Access to both McIntyres and Lowells Flat Campground, requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle with low-range capability, off-road tyres and a driver with 4WD experience.
There is very limited to no mobile phone reception in these areas to call for assistance. Recovery, if required, will be difficult and costly.
Trail closures may occur at short notice. Always check the NPWS website for updates before travelling.

Fire bans: Park Fire Ban - The Rock NR - Kengal Aboriginal Place
A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited.
