Closed areas: Campground Closures - Marramarra National Park
All campgrounds in Marramarra National Park will be closed from Tuesday 6 April until further notice due to dangerous conditions caused by recent flooding events across New South Wales. Extensive debris and contamination remains in the waterways and lands adjacent to the Hawkesbury River west of the Hawkesbury River Rail Bridge (Brooklyn). As per the published NSW Government Gazette Marine Notice, a maximum speed limit of 15 knots has been declared for these waters.

Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is a popular location and will close at short notice if needed to ensure visitation levels do not exceed safe capacity required by COVID social distancing guidelines.
Many COVID-19 restrictions have now been lifted from visitor precincts and facilities in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
We encourage you to:
- Plan your visit outside of peak periods of 10am to 2pm
- Be prepared to move on if it is no longer possible for you to maintain a COVID-safe distance from other visitors. It is your responsibility to leave the area. Do not wait to be instructed by NPWS or police.
From Monday 29 March 2021, the maximum group size for an outdoor gathering will be increased from 50 people to 200 people, including children. Group size restrictions in National Parks still apply. Groups are still expected to maintain social distancing and good hygiene.
The closure of toilets and other facilities will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Necessary site assessments will take place to consider the management of health and safety risk to visitors and staff, and available resourcing to maintain facilities. Access to sanitation products and running water cannot be guaranteed. We recommend bringing hand soap, hand wipes and toilet paper with you to maintain good hygiene as advised by the NSW Government.

Gibberagong boardwalk will be closed to all visitors from Tuesday 6 April to mid July 2021, while the boardwalk is replaced. During this time there will be no access to the Gibberagong track from Bobbin Head.
Walkers along the Gibberagong track who have entered from Murrua Road, North Turramurra or Grosvenor Street, North Wahroonga will be turned around at Gibberagong boardwalk and will not be able to access Bobbin Head picnic areas. Signage and security fencing will be in placed around closed areas.

Safety alerts: Swimming safety in Berowra Valley National Park
Swimming is not advisable in Berowra Creek at certain times as the water may be subject to variable pollution levels and algal blooms. Please refer to the Hornsby Shire Council website before swimming in Berowra Creek. Alternatively you can call the Hornsby Council 24 hour information line on 9847 6666 or the Algal information line on 1800 999 457.
Swimming at Fishponds is not advised at any time due to heavy water pollution.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a baiting program using manufactured baits, fresh baits and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPEs) containing 1080 poison (sodium fluroacetate) for the control of foxes. The program is continuous and ongoing between Monday 1 February and Saturday 31 July 2021 in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Don’t touch baits or ejector devices. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
All baiting locations are identifiable by signs.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
Fox baiting in this reserve is aimed at reducing their impact on threatened species.

Safety alerts: Ironbark Road access to picnic area - Last 850m 4WD only
The last 850m along Ironbark Road (Crown Road) to access Ironbark picnic area is currently limited to 4WD vehicles only. This section is not suitable to conventional 2WD vehicles due to a severely eroded hill along the Crown Road. Visitors to this section of the park travelling by conventional 2WD vehicles will have to walk the last 850 metres to access to the start of the park and Ironbark picnic area.
