Other planned events: Ongoing 1080 wild dog and fox baiting and pest programs underway
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting ongoing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) wild dog and fox baiting and Canid Pest Ejector programs. The programs will run from 1 November 2019 to 28 February 2020. There will be 1080 baiting signs at the entrance to baiting areas. Don’t touch baits or ejector devices. Some baits may be buried. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
These programs are part of an integrated pest animal control strategy, which also includes trapping and shooting, with the aim of minimising the impacts of these pests on neighbouring stock.
Domestic pets are highly susceptible to 1080 poison. Dogs, cats and other pets and domestic animals are not permitted on NSW national parks, reserves and state conservation areas.
