Safety alerts: Murramarang South Coast Walk Hazard warning

Walking tracks in Murramarang have been heavily affected by recent storm and sea conditions.

Beach access points and rock crossings have been heavily impacted and can be difficult to negotiate with some steep, slippery and unstable sections.

When accessing beaches and walking across rocky sections of the walk, please be mindful of conditions, loose rocks and dangerous crossings.

The following tracks are affected:

  • Acheron Ledge walking track
  • Dark Beach walking track
  • Durras Mountain Loop trail
  • Myrtle Beach walking track
  • Burrawang walking track
  • Point Upright lookout
  • Richmond Beach 
  • Snake Bay
  • Honeysuckle Beach walking track
  • Maloneys Beach to South Durras walking track
  • Murramarang South Coast Walk
  • Oaky Beach walking track
  • Pretty Beach to Pebbly Beach walking track
  • Wasp Head walk

Closed areas: Depot Beach Campground closed for Maintenance

Depot Beach campground is closed for maintenance until Tuesday 30 September 2025, Depot beach cabins will be opened for bookings during this time.

Safety alerts: Cullendulla Beach erosion

Cullendulla Beach is changing shape from the impacts of coastal erosion.

During high tide, walking access via the beach into Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve from the carpark on Myamba Parade may be restricted by the ocean.

While in the reserve, visitors should continue to monitor conditions and time their walk with a lower tide.

Tide predictions for Batemans Bay are found on the Bureau of Meteorology website.

Closed areas: Depot Beach cabins and campground closed

Depot Beach campground and Depot Beach cabins are closed for maintenance until Sunday 31 August. The Depot Beach campground office will also be closed.

If you’re staying at Pebbly Beach campground, Pebbly Beach cabins, Judges House or Yellow Rock Beach House during this period – you can contact the Pretty Beach campground office on 02 4457 2019 if you have a problem and need to speak to staff.

  • Murramarang National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day. The park has pay machines - cash and credit cards accepted. Card only at Pretty Beach.
