Fire bans: Park Fire Ban

A park fire ban is in place in this park, excluding the following serviced camping and accommodation areas:

  • Depot Beach campground 
  • Pebbly Beach campground
  • Pretty Beach campground
  • Yellow Rock Beach House

The park fire ban remains in effect for all other areas unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, please contact the local park office before using a gas and or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: Park closed due to bushfire damage

Murramarang National Park has been impacted by the recent fires. While the park remains closed, the following areas, including access roads are open:

  • NRMA Murramarang Beachfront Holiday Park
  • Depot Beach campground and cabins
  • Pretty Beach campground and cabins
  • Yellow Rock cabin

All other roads, trails and walking tracks in the park remain closed. Please do not enter the closed areas of this park. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information contact 1300 072 757 (13000 PARKS) or visit the Rural Fire Service website.
